Erasmus+ presso Holztechnikum di Kuchl (A)

In questi giorni, il laboratorio del Holztechnikum di Kuchl, partner dell'ISIS Fermo Solari per la work experience legata al programma ERASMUS+, si è trasformato in un vivace cantiere internazionale. Studenti dell’ISIS Fermo Solari di Tolmezzo e del Leksand Gymnasium (Svezia), ospiti in Austria per l'esperienza di mobilità Europea VET, stanno collaborando fianco a fianco con i loro coetanei austriaci per realizzare un progetto tanto tecnico quanto simbolico: la costruzione di prototipi di barche da regalare a bambine e bambini durante le prossime giornate di scuola aperta presso l'Istituto austriaco.

Queste piccole imbarcazioni, frutto di creatività, competenze manuali e spirito di squadra, rappresentano molto più di un semplice dono: sono il segno tangibile di un’Europa che naviga insieme, dove la formazione professionale diventa occasione di scambio, crescita e amicizia.

Il progetto si svolge sotto forma di una “friendly competition”: ogni gruppo è impegnato nella progettazione e realizzazione di un modello di barca, che sarà valutato secondo tre criteri fondamentali:

  • Economicità: uso efficiente dei materiali e sostenibilità dei costi

  • Facilità di montaggio/smontaggio: pensata per essere assemblata anche dai più piccoli

  • Navigabilità: capacità di galleggiare e muoversi in acqua con stabilità

Al termine del percorso, il prototipo vincitore sarà adottato come “gift ufficiale” dall'Holztechnikum per le sue attività di outreach con le scuole medie locali.

L’iniziativa non coinvolge solo gli studenti attualmente in stage: anche i ragazzi del Holztechnikum che verranno in seguito presso il nostro Istituto e si recheranno al Leksand Gymnasium in mobilità nei prossimi mesi, stanno contribuendo attivamente, rendendo il progetto un vero e proprio laboratorio di cooperazione europea, un ponte tra culture e competenze condivise.

These days, the workshop at Holztechnikum Kuchl—partner of ISIS Fermo Solari for Erasmus+ work experience—has become a vibrant international construction site. Students from ISIS Fermo Solari in Tolmezzo and Leksand Gymnasium in Sweden, currently hosted in Austria for their European VET mobility experience, are working side by side with their Austrian peers on a project that is both technical and symbolic: designing and building prototype boats to be gifted to young children during upcoming open school days at the Austrian institute.

These small boats, products of creativity, craftsmanship, and teamwork, are much more than simple toys. They are tangible signs of a Europe that sails together—where vocational education becomes a space for exchange, growth, and friendship.

The project takes the form of a friendly competition: each group is tasked with designing and building a boat prototype, which will be evaluated based on three key criteria:

  • Cost-effectiveness: efficient use of materials and sustainable budgeting

  • Ease of assembly/disassembly: designed to be assembled even by young children

  • Navigability: ability to float and move stably in water

At the end of the process, the winning prototype will be adopted as the official “gift” by Holztechnikum for its outreach activities with local middle schools.

The initiative involves not only the students currently on placement: Austrian students who will soon travel to our institute and to Leksand Gymnasium as part of their upcoming mobility experiences are also actively contributing. This makes the project a true laboratory of European cooperation—a bridge between cultures and shared competencies.
